I understand the Presidential Search Committee will meet at 2:00, Friday regarding these applicants and that the meeting is open to the public. Also,is the BOT meeting on Monday, December 3 at 5:00 open to the public? Can anyone confirm this information and how can the faculty be notified and encouraged to attend these important meetings.

If you are retiring tomorrow, then you have no interest in who will be the next president at PJC. However, most of us are not in that position. If you read this, then you should be attending these meetings! Show an interest in who these people are as well as the process!!

A national search firm would still be better at finding highly qualified applicants. We need a person with vision for growth of both academic and vocational programs and not someone who wants to be president for a larger salary or to "retire on active duty".

The Board meeting on Monday, Dec. 3, is a very important "deciding" meeting. Do you want the next president to be decided by a small group with little knowledge of what actually goes on at PJC, esp in the classroom? We need a search to find the "right" person, not someone who is not working/doing their job/headed to retirement. This is a sad search.

There is no rush to fill this spot. They should leave it open until the find the right candidate.

Our internal candidates are NOT good. We prefer the predecessors for their current jobs (VP Student Affairs and provost) to them. Their predecessors loved/love this community and the college.

The committee should advise the BOT not to rush. Administrative openings seem to invite the most undesirable characters.

Many faculty members cannot make it to the meeting.

In response to the question about Monday's Board of Trustee's meeting: Yes, this meeting is open to the public. Keep in mind, however, that there is no forum for attendees to address the BOT unless you submit a request 10 days prior to the BOT meeting.

You can certainly send letters to the Board, call them, etc. to express your opinion.
