Selecting a new president for the college is a very serious responsibility. The best selection needs to be a person who looks to the future, has a vision which encompasses the community, the faculty, students, and personnel who work in the trenches. To date we (PJC) has employed individuals who have their agenda and do not encourage input from the college community to assist in the process of developing programs which assist all involved in the college as well as the community. The person chosen must be flexible, intellegent, diverse, experienced, and have the well fair of all involved. The person has to bring in or install quality people in all positions to bring about the changes needed to reach the 21st century and the new demands necessary to accomplish what is necessary to once again establish PJC as a very important part of the community of the Panhandle. I feel we have such a person in the four selected to date. But, one must look carefully and now just fill the position as we have done in the past selections. Lets us not select more of the same.
